A busy and versatile stage and screen actor Abi loves Shakespeare, comedy, new writing and playing Doctors and Media types (Doctors of medicine or philosophy- she often gets cast in these roles!).
Recent theatre work includes Sam Chittenden’s multi-award winning work ‘Clean’, the story of incredible women in Brighton through the ages. Abi received great reviews for her role as the pioneering Dr Helen Boyle. She’s also played another strong victorian woman in a site specific run of ‘Vincent in Brixton’ at the house - now museum - where the play is set and where artist Vincent Van Gogh lived during his stay in London. Other notable performances include the drunken ‘Doc’ in a semi-immersive reimagined version of Tennessee William's 'Confessional' at Southwark Playhouse which broke the theatre’s box office records and received superb reviews. Her one woman show, 'The Principle of Uncertainty' received rave reviews at the EDINBURGH FRINGE and on tour.
Abi recently played a prank on Rio Ferdinand as part of a viral campaign for Heineken ahead of the Euros in 2021 - assuming the role of a blundering portrait artist who’d commissioned work featured Rio in the Wales kit. Great comedy improv and character skills and a fun film that played well across social media! She’s also recently appeared in the TV series American Monsters and is filming two short films in Brighton this summer.
She can often found playing a news reporter or producer as art imitates life (Abi worked for 12 years as a BBC news and factual reporter/ producer/director) and has done so on the big screen (Hitman’s Bodyguard) and the small (BBC Doctors and BBC series Shakespeare and Hathaway!)
Abi’s most recent international feature ‘Special Couple’ is awaiting UK release - it’s a hit in China already! She filmed with Arif Rahman and Rupert Graves in Ireland playing a cooky solicitor called Emma! Recent TV includes hit show American Monster.
Abi left the world of factual TV production to retrain at London's 'The Poor School' graduating in 2015 and is enjoying following her dream.
